I like to keep sketchbooks for drawing and even doing paintings. It's fun to create a book with a theme, and to take it with you and do some plein air pieces on location!

Denver
Dinosaur Ridge is right on the outskirts of Denver, and you can see real fossilized dinosaur bones and even more impressive, tracks on the mountainside!

These are 2 pretty parks right next to each other in Boulder, CO. The red rocks in settler's park are worth the climb up to see!
On the road towards Montrose
As we drove towards Montrose, where Black Gunnission National Park is located, dark storm clouds started covering the sky, yet the sun was still trying to peak through. The colors lit up the sky and landscape were incredible!
Black Canyon of the Gunnison
The striations in the rock at Black Canyon were so incredible to see...but SO hard to paint! lol
