I did this painting on location using gouache paints. It was a lot of fun and a bit challenging because the sky and sun kept changing.
Glacier Friends
This piece is of a landscape from Glacier National Park, with some of the wildlife that's found there. A mountain goat, ptarmigan bird, and a marmot...all eating some food together as friends :) I painted this in gouache paints by Arteza which are really nice to work with.
Watkins glen
I visited Watkins Glen in New York and was taken by its beauty! It looked like a scene out of Lord of the Rings...it's just incredible there! I took one of my favorite photos I shot and did a painting in gouache of it.
Rocky Mountain Elk
I did this painting based on inspiration from 2 different photos I took in Rocky Mountain National Park. The elk I took a photo of had a boring background, and this beautiful field with mountains in the background was devoid of elk so...combine them and wow, looks better! lol. Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park
I was testing out these watercolor brush pens by Crafty Croc and came up with this piece. When you add water to them, it really makes the colors flow and blend beautifully!
Grand Canyon Sunset
A watercolor painting of the Grand Canyon at sunset. The colors just light up the canyon so beautifully with goldens and deep blues. This was done with Daniel Smith watercolor paints.
